Mario Kart Tournament (Game Tournament II)

ACM and the Math Club have teamed up to bring to you the greatest game competition UMW has ever seen. All current UMW students with a valid UMW email address are eligible to compete for the $75 top prize. Details for the event are listed below.

Important Information:

Rules:

• Each player plays 10 games after checking in. They may play the games in any room against the competition of their choice. 4pts for winning a race, 3pts for second and so on.
• Level selection will be random (except for the final game if the players can agree upon a level).
• Character selection will be decided draft style with the selection order randomized by the judge. Players will select one character at a time in order for both characters.
• Car selection will be personal choice.
• 150cc race mode with normal items for game play.
• After everyone has played 10 games, the top 8 players will play each other in two groups, highest score in first, second highest in the second, alternating thereafter.
• The top two in each group compete in a final 4 player game for the gift certificates.
• In the event of a tie (or the field may not be narrowed down to 8). A playoff (game of # of tied players) between the tied players will ensue to determine the order.
• Some rooms may have extra characters unlocked compared to the usual 16. It is your job to scout out which you would like to play.
• All judges have authority over the application of these rules.

Registration Now Open

Registration is now closed for the UMW ACM Mario Kart Game Competition. Registration must be submitted by Thursday, November 30th at 7:00pm for a chance to compeate (Chipotle Gift Cards will also be awarded based on registration).

Why Register?

1. Registration is not really required!
2. Registering assures you a spot at the Game Competition.
3. Registrants are given a vote in the final rules for the competition.
4. And best of all... You are automatically entered to win FREE Chipotle Gift Cards! On game day, 10 students who are registered will win $5 Chipotle Gift Cards
